ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Brian Dawtrey is British, born in 1928. After war service, he graduated in Agriculture after marrying his wife Jo in 1948.
Brian and Jo were family farmers in England before going to Africa for twenty-five years in Overseas Aid, promoting African
food production and wildlife conservation schemes in Tanzania, Zambia and Nigeria.
Brian was a Honorary Wildlife Ranger for sixteen years and a

Chairman of the Wildlife Conservation Society of
Zambia, in which capacity he hosted Sir Peter Scott and David Shepherd.
Brian is an experienced writer in both the UK and Africa. He contributed regularly to government and World Bank
organisations, as well as feature writing and editing in African wildlife and cultural journals.
Brian’s son Richard, featured in the book, has changed his nick-name from Bushman to Music Man. He can be contacted

Brian spent six years researching his genealogy back to 1066 and produced a book, available on CD for £
30.00; entitled DAWTREY AN ANCIENT FAMILY TREE.
